squashmaniac Skrevet November 17, 2008 Rapporter Share Skrevet November 17, 2008 Hello! I realy enjoy driving my Astra G 2.2 DTi but i have a problem with it now... it does not start :( The only thing i get is clicks of a starter when i turn the ignition key. this started gradually as at the beginning it was few clicks and then the car started ok.. also there was no problems to start it for several weeks again. but now it does not start at all so the only way to start it is push-start. I am glad that oslo has many up and down so i can park it on a top and start it rolling down. But i need to fix this and as i am new in Oslo i am not sure where to go for a good and affordable servicing. Please shere where you fix your Astra and what are the prices? Maybe some already had this problem as well and that would be great to know how you fixed it and what is the reason for that. i suspect the starter but also have heard some other versions already. Hope to hear from you guys as i really need to fix this!! Kaspars Siter Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider
DeVille Skrevet November 17, 2008 Rapporter Share Skrevet November 17, 2008 Sounds like a bad connection to me. Try to check the cables that are connected to the starter. Siter "Who are you and why should I care?" Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider
squashmaniac Skrevet November 17, 2008 Forfatter Rapporter Share Skrevet November 17, 2008 as the motor department is fitted there is practically no space to put an arm in.. however i have removed some shields e.t.c. and tried to get to the starter connections. i understood that i need to get under my car to check those connections but i do not have a lift to pick my car up. Maybe some of you know is there any live *self-service* place in Oslo where you can fix your car for yourself? I also tried to connect the starter directly to the battery by start-up cables but it just kept clicking and no cranking. I am reading a lot of forums now aout this as this seems to be popular issue to many other cars as well but the causes might be very different. I think i should try to put in other strong battery and see does it make a difference before considering removing the starter for inspection.. DeVille Skrevet November 17, 2008 Rapporter Share Skrevet November 17, 2008 It doesn't sound like a bad battery to me... but if you wanna try it, just use another car and start-up cables. You could check the voltage on the battery to make sure. I still think it is the small starterwire on the starter that is the problem. Probably only need a cleanup on the connector.
